It is so difficult to find winter boots to satisfy my taste. I hate ugly looking boots, I do not understand the reason why 95% of winter boots are made from the most unpractical material in the world - suede. How suede is supposed to stay clean in that snow-salt- exaust mix of our roads. Or why most boots do not have proper insulation for cold weather.
And, finally, browsing internet I found Ross and Snow. Leather, shearling lining, elegant look, easy to put on. Nice, simple design, can be worn with skirts, jeans, very warm. Quality is great. True to size. I always wear size 8 and size 8 of this boots feet me perfectly. I bought cheaper, non waterproof option and applied waterproof spray. So far, boots kept my feet warm and dry during cold and snow days of January in Toronto. We had -20-30 C. Boots are very comfortable to walk despite 3 in hill. Only one missing requirement - the sole does not provide great traction control, so while sufficient for regular winter days, another option is required for really slippery days..
As such, I ordered another pair of boot from Ross and Snow - model Rosina. The heels of those is lower and the sole is thicker and seems has better traction control.
Highly recommended. I checked everywhere on internet and did not find better boots from the standpoint of looks, quality, comfort and value.
